Harry Styles? With a gun?
Maybe we should have mentioned in the title that it’s actually a sculpture of a gun. Don’t worry, Harry Styles isn’t turning gangster or anything.
It’s probably a good job too, because we don’t really think that being a bad boy would suit our Hazza.
We know that Harry likes to get a bit artsy now and then, ya’know with all his tattoos and stuff. But he also has a bit of an interest in real art, too.
He’s already spent a small fortune on some modern art pieces, and this is the latest one to add to his collection.
He likes to go for more – let’s just say ‘unique’ pieces, and this is definitely one of those.
He chose to splurge a whopping £5k on a sculpture of a handgun inside a glass fire arm. Crazy, right?
The artist, Ben Turnball spoke of Harry’s latest purchase: “I did a series of fire alarms with weapons in them called Every Home Should Have One. Harry had one with a gun inside.
“I wasn’t actually at the art fair and I didn’t do the deal, but I’m fairly sure that Harry would have got a little bit of a discount. I think he bought a couple of my collage works that are made out of original comics and show giant pictures of firemen, relating to the 9/11 memorial. They are giant portraits which sell at £20,000 each.”
He added: “My pieces tend to give a statement – quite a sharp jab. Maybe that’s what Harry likes about them.”
At least Ben seems happy about Harry buying into his art – it’s just a shame that can’t be said for everyone in the art world.
Hazza seemed to show an interest in one of Polly Morgan’s art pieces, to which her assistant commented that she’d rather not be “closely associated” with Harry.
According to her assistant, she thought the connection with Harry to her art could “affect future sales”! Whatever.
Anyway, we can all stop panicking now, Harry doesn’t really have a gun.
