Best Song Ever Is ‘Catchy As F**k’ And About ‘Sharing A Night With Their Girls’
So, it’s probably the most anticipated single for 2013 so far and it’s nearly here!
Songwriter Ed Drewett has spoke out about the upcoming hit, and why it’s dubbed as their most ‘mature’ single yet.
Speaking to Entertainmentwise, Ed revealed the plot behind the song:
“The chorus is pretty much about a night that they and their girl shared together, they got tipsy and forgot what the best song ever was, but they remembered the words that night, but forgot it by the morning.”
He’s also aiming to get it out there as much as possible, hoping people will buy it: “regardless of whether you like One Direction or not, I’ve got to put food on the table!”

Ed also spoke to the Daily Star, about how we can expect a more ‘mature’ sound from the boys: ”My instinct was that they would want to have something a little more mature in their writing.
“As a songwriter for other people you have to grow with them and think, ‘What part of their lives and careers are they at now?’
“It’s a little more rocky but still catchy as f**k. It’s a fun little tune.”
‘Best Song Ever’ is supposed to get it’s first play this Friday (19th June), and is due for release the following Monday.
