One Direction named Britain’s wealthiest boy band in Sunday Times Rich List 2013


Paul McCartney and Adele top musician and young musician rich list One Direction have become Britain’s richest boy band, according to the Sunday Times Rich List.


The list, published today (April 21), sees the former X factor group named as the UK’s wealthiest boy band with a combined wealth of £25 million. The ‘What Makes You Beautiful’ group knocked JLS off the top spot, as they drop down to Number two with an estimated combined wealth of £24 million.

Meanwhile, Paul McCartney has topped the musician’s rich list for the 24th year running. The former Beatles man was named the UK’s wealthiest performed with a £680 million fortune, which is shared with his wife Nancy Shevell. McCartney has been at the top of all the Sunday Times Rich List charts since it began in 1989, when he was then worth £80million. By 1993, the singer’s fortune had grown by to a staggering £400 million.

Adele topped the Young Musician Rich List (aged 30 and under). The ‘Someone Like You’ singer now has a fortune of £30 million. The success of her second album ’21′ has meant an increase of 50% on the £20 million fortune she was said to have last year (2012).
