LAPD CALLED AS DIRECTIONERS CRASH ‘THIS IS US’ MOVIE SCREENING IN LOS ANGELES

An advance screening of One Direction’s movie ‘This Is Us’ was held on Saturday morning at the Grove Pacific Theatre in Los Angeles, and things were fairly calm in the beginning.

Certain fans had been lucky enough to get free tickets on website gofobo.com, and started to queue outside the cinema. Only the first 100 were admitted inside though – with security having to confiscate smartphones to avoid any leaks.

Inside the auditorium it was clear that there were still some empty seats, and apparently word had gotten out. An usher was forced to warn the audience that fans outside were now attempting to rush the theatre, and LAPD had been called to deal with the threat.

Fan “Frances LA” tweeted the following message early on:

“A riot broke out at the screening and they took our phones so I couldn’t record. The cops are here, security guards were trampled and girls rushed the theater because they were turned away”.

Speaking to E! News, a source said:

“It was invite-only with a first-come first serve basis. People that weren’t able to get in were stuck outside the theater. Someone shouted that the band was actually there and that’s when a bunch of screaming girls ran in and tried to get inside.”

A 40-year-old San Pedro resident said:

“They charged and went straight past the ticket takers for the doors of the actual theater screaming, ‘Let us in! Let us in!’”.

“It took about a half an hour before a police car came with two policemen in it. They started palming kids down and shoving them outside.”

16-year-old Directioner Allysa Mae De Guzman was a part of the outside group, and said:

“When I got inside, the red ropes that block the entrance to the theater were on the floor,” she said. “It was pretty scary because people were tripping on the floor and pushing and stuff like that.”

Whilst a mother present at the screening added:

Madness!
